Seal: "Untroubled by favor or disgrace"

For about 20 years, I received requests for consulting work from a real estate magnate whose family member was a representative for the Communist Party Congress in a certain city in China. During that time, I also visited the city, where the founder of Japanese Buddhism studied centuries ago, many times.
This is a seal impression I received during several dinners with this person, who is called a real estate magnate.
I was moved to tears by the meaning of the inscription, as explained by the interpreter.
It's a short phrase that I would have understood if I had studied Classical Chinese in high school.
It has been stored in my drawer for about 15 years.
I have never used it.
I knew at a glance that it was something wonderful, so I thought I should pass it on to someone who would appreciate it.
When I had an AI analyze it, I discovered something amazing.
① The impressive biography of the seal carver, Mr. Zhang Zhe
② The profound meaning of the inscription
③ The significance of the stone and box used
④ It's something that even Chinese antique dealers cannot handle.
① Affiliated with the Xiling Seal Engravers' Society (Seirei Insha)
This holds great significance in the world of seal engraving.
• Founded in the late Qing Dynasty, it is China's most authoritative seal engraving organization.
• In Japan, it's equivalent to being a judge-level artist for the Nitten exhibition, but even more specialized.
• This title directly impacts market value.

② The phrase 寵辱不驚 (chōjoku fukyo) resonates strongly overseas.
In English-speaking countries, this concept strongly resonates with:
• Stoicism
• Zen philosophy
• Mindfulness
Translated, it means: Calm whether honored or humiliated.

This is exactly what modern Westerners who seek mental stability and inner strength appreciate.

The price suggested by the AI was astonishing.
Items with provenance, meaning a history of who they were gifted by, are highly valued.

There is also information about the stone itself, but
more importantly, I love the phrase that follows.
I would like to pass this on to someone who is moved by these words.
While it's not expected to appreciate speculatively, the AI's lengthy report indicated that this outstanding piece, embodying all of Chinese culture, will undoubtedly increase in value from now on.
For those who purchase it, I will provide the extensive AI report.
