Antique Noritake M Wreath Relish Celery Dish Hand Painted Japan Art Deco Floral

This elegant antique Noritake porcelain celery/relish tray features an elongated oval form with raised pointed ends.  The dish is decorated with a soft powder-blue luster border, dark outlining, and colorful floral medallions in shades of orange, yellow, burgundy, blue, green, and white. Its geometric shape and richly colored decoration give it a distinctive Art Deco era appearance.  The underside bears the red Noritake M in wreath backstamp reading “Hand Painted” and “Made in Japan.” The M represents Morimura Brothers, Noritake’s early importing and distribution company. This backstamp is generally associated with Noritake production from the 1920s to around 1930. A beautiful addition to an antique Noritake collection, vintage tablescape, china cabinet, or colorful maximalist display.  Approximate measurements:  - 7.5 inches long  - 4.5 inches wide  - 1.5 inches tall  Very good pre-owned antique condition with age-related wear to portions of the painted and dark-lined decoration, along with light surface marks and small imperfections consistent with age. No chips or cracks but there are some small areas in the hand-painted flowers where the paint has worn off. Please enlarge and review all photos, as they form an important part of the description.
