Willie Yazzie Sterling Silver Money Clip

Sterling silver overlay on a spring steel money clip made by the renowned Navajo artist Willie Yazzie (William A. Yazzie Sr., 1928-1999). It features his signature overlay style and is an authentic piece of Native American jewelry. Willie Yazzie was a world-class silversmith known for adopting the overlay technique from the Hopi but applying traditional Navajo designs without the textured (stamped) background common in Hopi work, instead using oxidation to create contrast. The design is characteristic of his work, which often incorporated animal and Navajo figures. He worked and demonstrated his craft at Mesa Verde National Park for many years.
