Y*i様 Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine Bronze Lantern
Thank you for looking.
This is a hanging lantern commemorating the 1750th anniversary festival of Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, held in 1977 (Showa 52).
This is a gem I found while organizing my home storage. Although 50 years have passed since the grand festival, it has been stored away and is in like-new condition with no fading.
It is made of bronze, the color is as shown in the photos, and the beautiful gold plum blossom pattern of Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine is present. (The plum blossom pattern is applied to three of the six sides.)
You can place a candle inside to light it up. The third photo shows the bottom part where the candle holder is removed.
It comes with a wooden box, which is also free of dirt and stains.
There is also a cardboard box that the wooden box was stored in, but please note that this one is dirty.
There are no accessories such as a certificate of origin.
I don't know how many of these were made, but I have only seen one online once, a long time ago.
Dimensions and Weight:
Lantern: Height approx. 31cm, Width approx. 25cm, Weight 3.2kg
Wooden box: Height 34.5cm, Width 27cm, Depth 30cm, Weight 1.9kg
