Description
These are fragments of ancient Shigaraki pottery, hundreds of years old, which are rarely available today. Nineteen years ago, when I visited Shigaraki, one of Japan's six ancient kilns, I met an elderly former potter in front of his house who was using these ancient Shigaraki fragments as planters for pine trees. I persuaded him to part with them, and I named them Yūkon!
