Unlike commonly sold hard Akadama soil, because it is baked, it is sterile, very hard, and has a structure where the granules do not easily crumble. This maintains good aeration for a long time and provides excellent water retention and drainage.
? Hyuga Soil: Hard pumice that can be collected from the Kirishima volcanic zone in southern Miyazaki Prefecture. It has good drainage and aeration, with properties similar to pumice and gravel. (Slightly acidic, sterile)
? Kun-tan: Charcoal made from rice husks. It adsorbs waste products and ammonia that accumulate in the bottle.
