Omi Ginger - Seed Ginger
Omi ginger is a representative variety of large ginger. Its tubers grow large, typically weighing 500g to 1kg, and it is a late-maturing variety.
It has a pale yellow, glossy appearance and tender flesh. It is characterized by its refreshing aroma, mild spiciness, and ease of consumption, making it widely usable for pickled ginger (gari) and as a condiment.
As a guideline, approximately 20kg of seed ginger, packed in about 20 cases, can be planted per tan (10a). Please use this as a reference.
Although this is seed ginger, it can also be consumed as food.
