Hokkaido-grown [Naturally Cultivated] Black Sengen Soybeans - 100 pieces

This is Hokkaido's rare Kuro-Sengoku Daizu (Black Sengoku Soybean).

It is naturally cultivated without any fertilizers or pesticides during the growing period. This variety thrives and produces abundant beans.

Kuro-Sengoku Daizu was previously not used for food but cultivated as green manure. In recent years, its high nutritional value compared to regular soybeans has been recognized, leading to its widespread cultivation.

The cultivation method is the same as regular soybeans, but although they are small, they require a slightly longer growing period. Ample sunshine ripens the Kuro-Sengoku Daizu, intensifying its flavor.
In Hokkaido, they are germinated in pots in April or May before the cuckoo calls and then transplanted to the fields. They are harvested in autumn when the pods turn brown.

To eat them, simply add Kuro-Sengoku Daizu to your usual white rice and cook as you normally would. The rice will turn a faint red color.
