Features
Origin: A rare mineral found primarily in the upper reaches of the Amagawa River in the Shinmei district of Kaminokuni Town, Hokkaido. Minerals with similar properties are also produced in the Aobata district of Hayakawa Town, Yamanashi Prefecture.
Formation: It is estimated to have formed from diatoms (phytoplankton) deposited on the seabed hundreds of millions of years ago, which solidified due to crustal movement and incorporated graphite.
Composition: Primarily composed of silicon dioxide (silica), it contains approximately 25 types of minerals, including calcium, potassium, magnesium, and carbon.
Properties: It has the characteristic of semi-permanently emitting far-infrared rays (especially life-generating rays) and negative ions at a high level at room temperature.
