Kurikyu Magewappa Rice Box, 3-Go Shallow Type with Legs

This is a magewappa rice box from Kurikyu, a long-established maker of Odate Magewappa in Akita.

Original purchase price: ￥55,000

Used only a few times and then carefully stored to prevent damage.
It is a sophisticated design, not just as a rice box.
There are minor chips of about 1.5mm and slight sun fading (see photos 11 and 12), but it is in overall clean condition.

I loved it, but I am selling it as part of a decluttering due to moving.
I would be happy if someone could use it.

After use, wash it, lightly drain the water, and then microwave it for about 40 seconds while still wet before drying. This helps the water evaporate quickly, preventing darkening and keeping the rice box clean, as I was told by Kurikyu when I purchased it. Please use this as a reference for care.

▼Product Description▼
This Odate Magewappa rice box allows you to enjoy delicious rice. Made utilizing the excellent properties of Akita cedar, this rice box absorbs excess moisture and humidifies when there is little moisture, naturally regulating humidity.

It keeps each grain of rice standing tall and glossy, so you can enjoy delicious rice even after some time has passed.

Akita cedar, considered one of Japan's three most beautiful forests, has uniform and beautiful wood grain, as well as antibacterial and deodorizing properties, which suppress spoilage and mold growth and remove odors.

Odate Magewappa was designated a national traditional craft in 1980, and most of its production process is done by traditional handwork.

You can feel the precision of the craftsman's handwork in the beautifully finished magewappa.
