[Notable Details of This Specific Stool]
● Special Brass Plate
Underneath the seat, there is a brass anniversary plate with a dull sheen, certifying Finland's 100th anniversary of independence. Unlike current stickers or engravings, this riveted plate itself has the appearance of a vintage archive.

● Reindeer Skin (Seat) Specification
While it is a black LEATHER specification, what fundamentally differs from the current standard leather seat is the treatment on the underside of the seat. Looking underneath, you can see that thick staples have been carefully applied by skilled craftsmen. This is a very elaborate specification found only on limited models of that era, and combined with the beautiful curves of the L-legs, it conveys a high level of craftsmanship.

● Age and Texture (Edge Details)
Having been used as part of everyday life, the leather on the edges of the seat has developed exquisite scuffs and patina. The charm of timeless Nordic furniture is that even scratches become part of the design as the history of the material. The birch legs with natural lacquer are also in the process of deepening into an amber hue.

Stool 60 was created by Aalto in 1933 with the aim of enriching residential spaces and making beauty accessible to everyone.

We hope to find a good connection through Mercari with those who love mid-century Nordic furniture and the beauty of aging. Please also take a look at our other listings.
