Hida Sangyo is a long-established, leading furniture manufacturer in Japan. Its history began in 1920 when Western bentwood techniques were introduced to Hida Takayama. Utilizing the traditional craftsmanship of Hida and the beech virgin forests, once considered useless lumber abundant in the Hida mountains, the company was born as a Western furniture maker. Hida Sangyo's bentwood technology, boasting the highest level of skill in Japan, has brought complex designs to life. They have developed numerous products using oak and cedar, including the popular Mori no Kotoba series, and are known worldwide as a furniture maker with the Kitsutsuki Mark.
