Engraving Chisel for Jewelry Setting, Blade Width 1.0mm, No. 19

This is a graver for stone setting.
It is used to raise the prongs from all four sides after the stone has been set.

The tip angle is slightly more obtuse than a regular graver for engraving.
This is to prevent the raised prongs from breaking off at the edge of the metal.

★The prong raising in the sample image uses a graver for stone setting with a tip width of 1.0mm and a #7 mill graver for creating beads.
The size of the prongs also changes depending on the strength of the engraver, so the appropriate size of the mill graver will vary.

When rounding the prongs, use a mill graver slightly larger than the prong.
If it is too small, the edge of the mill will protrude and look messy.

★To round the prongs and create beads, you will need a commercially available mill graver and a graver holder.

You can use it as is, but
the cutting edge will become dull and difficult to engrave with use.
