This is a sweat and stain prevention cover for a kesa (Buddhist stole).
Also prevents sunburn around the neck.

Many kesa are made of pure silk or woven fabric.
When wearing a kesa over a collarless shirt like a t-shirt or sweatshirt, sweat stains and dirt can be a concern.
Also, woven fabric can be scratchy against the neck, so I used to wrap a hand towel, but it looked a bit silly (lol).
The commercially available covers were only made of vinyl, so I made this one by hand.

Great for sweat absorption in summer and warmth in winter, usable in any season.

As of April 2026, there are no mass-produced products.
This is Japan's first washable fabric cover for kesa!

★Designed to fit a standard kesa width of 5cm.
★Width when unfolded: 14-15cm.
★Length: 38-39cm.
★Easy to attach and detach with plastic snaps.
★Can be used on either side.
★Snaps can be fastened to be hidden or visible.
★Color: Navy.
The color of the towel in photos 1-3, shown attached to a kesa, is closest to the actual color.
Please note that the color may appear differently depending on your viewing environment.

◆Towel fabric stretches and shrinks, so the size measurements have some leeway.
◆The towels are used as purchased. Since preferences for detergents and fabric softeners vary, the item has not been washed.
◆While thread is used in a similar color, stitching may be visible. Please allow for slight curves or distortions.

◆Although carefully made, this is a handmade item by an amateur.
