Rare Item Hisamatsu Kiln Round Jar No. 10 Tokoname Ware

Tokoname Ware - Rare Item, Made in Japan

This is a size 10 lidded pickle jar from Hisamatsu Kiln.
This item has been stored at home for a long time.

Material: Ceramic
Type: Pickle Jar
Color: Brown
Diameter: Approx. 35cm
Height: Approx. 35cm

Ideal for various preserved foods, from making miso in winter to making umeboshi in early summer, as well as for nuka pickles, pickled shallots, pickled napa cabbage, pickled daikon radish, kimchi, and more.

While ceramic products can seep moisture and salt if they develop crazing due to salt or other factors, Hisamatsu Kiln's unique firing and glaze prevent crazing, offering excellent acid and water resistance.

Ceramic products are safe and secure, with no worries about the leaching of environmental hormones.
Furthermore, Hisamatsu Kiln's jars are made from materials that resist temperature changes, protecting contents from harmful microorganisms better than other products.

The mellow taste of pickled plums and miso made in these jars is incomparable, and you won't want to go back to plastic containers.
Hisamatsu Kiln ceased operations in 2013, making their products difficult to obtain. This item was acquired at auction, but as household food consumption has decreased, I am selling it to someone who will cherish and use it, as I am switching to smaller jars.

Please check the photo of the bottom for the Hisamatsu Kiln stamp.
*Please be aware of similar foreign-made imitations with similar shapes and colors.

There are minor scuffs due to age-related deterioration, but I believe it is in good condition, showing little sign of its age. Please check the photos.
There is a small chip on the underside of the lid, but it does not affect use. Other than that, there are no cracks or chips on the lid or the main body.
