◆Product Description◆

This ikat features Dutch colonial influences, as Indonesia was a colony of the Netherlands. Therefore, alongside depictions of snakes and ancestral figures from indigenous Indonesian beliefs, you will find motifs such as the Dutch national animal, the lion, as well as birds and giraffe-like birds. This ikat is a blend of Javanese animism and European culture.

This item is dyed entirely with natural dyes.
It is said that only auspicious animal hides are used for dyeing and weaving due to religious customs.
A considerable amount of time and effort is invested in weaving a single ikat.

This is a very rare and valuable item.
It is estimated to be 70-80 years old.

This is a vertical ikat.
Two pieces have been carefully sewn together vertically.
