【Rare】Swedish Ceramic Wall Hanging Jie Gantofta Nordic

I am currently decluttering my home.

I received this as a gift a long time ago.

This is a wall-mounted ceramic plate made by the Swedish kiln Jie Gantofta, which opened in the 1940s.

While not widely known in Japan, it is very famous and popular in Sweden, with many collectors.

Design: A three-dimensional design depicting three chefs making soup in a large pot.

Proverb: The plate is inscribed in Swedish with Ju fler kockar, desto s?mre soppa, which has the same meaning as the Japanese proverb Too many cooks spoil the broth.

Usage: There are holes on the back for string or wire, allowing it to be displayed as a wall hanging.

Although the meaning of this proverb is quite severe,
the illustration of the three chefs making soup in a large pot is quite charming: the two on the sides have excited expressions, while the chef in the middle tasting the soup has a rather sad face.

The text with Swedish alphabet characters also adds to the simple and lovely atmosphere. ?

Each piece is finished by hand, and the original signature of the artisan who painted it is on the back. ☆

* A wire is attached to the back, so you can hang it on the wall to display.
