68 Recommended for Beginners, Roasted Bamboo, Clear Lacquer Finish, Classical Style 6 Holes, 6 Tones, Negishi Shinobue Studio
This is made to the same specifications as the Shishida and Maruyama shinobue flutes.
It also accommodates fingerings that cover the second and third holes from the bottom.
Most beginners can produce low notes, but struggle with high notes or the very high pee sound. Many are unsure if their current flute can produce these higher notes.
This flute was created based on feedback from instructors across various regions, aiming for ease of producing high notes, clear projection of higher octaves, and affordability.
For beginners, it is recommended to first purchase an affordable flute that allows for clear high and higher octave notes, and then visit a shop to try out and purchase a flute that suits them after they can produce these sounds. (Some flutes look good but do not project higher octaves well.) It is also said that progress is faster if one starts lessons after being able to produce a certain range of notes.
To prioritize ease of playing, tone, resonance, and affordability, there may be minor imperfections such as scratches, natural shapes, natural patterns, and natural curves.
An image shows a 10mm ball for reference of hole size.
Thickness: Approximately 19.8mm at the mouthpiece.
Length: Approximately 41.5cm.
Mouthpiece opening: Approximately 14.5mm.
Thickness: Slightly thick, normal, slightly thin.
(Thicker flutes have better resonance in low notes, while thinner flutes produce higher octaves better.)
Wall thickness: 2 out of 5 levels.
(Thicker walls produce better higher octaves and resonance, while thinner walls are easier to play.)
Pitch: Approximately 6.5 shaku.
Range: Clear projection from Tsutone (Ro-on) to Daikou-on 5.
What is Yakitake (Roasted Bamboo)?
This is the material with the best resonance among shinobue bamboo. Roasting bamboo thoroughly inside makes it harder and improves its resonance. However, it is difficult to process due to the scarcity of suitable materials.
When made naturally, the resonance is further enhanced. Bamboo grows by competing for sunlight. Therefore, bamboo that wins this competition is most suitable for flutes. (We have been researching the physics of natural principles for many years and can identify suitable bamboo.)
What is Tou-nuri finish (Translucent Lacquer Finish)?
Since no pigments are used in the paint, it makes it easier to produce sound. Furthermore, by carving grooves inside and allowing the paint to soak in, it further improves ease of playing and resonance.
Please Note:
High notes and higher octaves are produced very clearly. When blowing strongly, please ensure there is no one around. Please be especially careful with small children, the elderly, people with disabilities, and those who are not feeling well.
