Electro-Voice EV8L [Recone (1 unit)] Electro-Voice

The EV8L is a classic unit that has been used for many years in numerous compact PA models such as Xi-1082, Sx80, ZX1-90/100, and ZX1i-90/100.

This unit had a broken voice coil and has been reconed using a Recone Kit 8444A RKAM (Image 4) purchased from Speaker Exchange (currently $55 USD + shipping).
* The spider, voice coil, and cone are bonded with epoxy. The voice coil is centered using shims (Images 6-8).
* The dust cap diameter is 2.465, but it has been cut to 2.1 to match the original specifications and bonded to the voice coil (Images 1 & 2).
* After taking the photos, rubber damping agent (FunTeq ADFB) was applied to the edge.

This unit was kept as a backup and has almost no signs of dirt.
