Vintage 1950-1960s Midcentury Modern Samsonite briefcase. Mad Men. Dark Academia

Mid century 1960s Samsonite briefcase! Retro style.  This is the exact make and model briefcase carried by carried by Don Draper in MAD MEN, starting in season 7, episode 9. It's also got a lot of vintage James Bond and even dark academia vibes. You can add padding to the inside and use as a laptop case.    Samsonite is one of the most iconic names in vintage briefcases and luggage, they set the style for decades, and this black and silver/chrome hard-sided case is a classic example of the time period.   This is the very late 1950s to early 1960s model. It's actually the first one I've found that's quite this old. You can tell because it has the two small metal rivets on the top of each side. Later versions would attach the interior folio in a different way and you didn't find these.   Approx. size, outside:  18 x 12 x 3     Condition: excellent vintage condition.   The chrome is in amazing shape and the exterior has only minor scuffing consistent with age. Even the feet on the base are in perfect condition and thats quite rare.   The inside is nearly perfect! It has some extremely tiny pulls in the fabric and a small stain about the size of a pencil eraser. The leather folio is like new. The late 70s models used snaps instead of the hole-and-post. The snaps usually fail over time but these closures will last forever. No key.  Note: I have to pay extra to ship this so be mindful when making offers please.
