Antique c.1891 U.S. Glass Broken Column Ruby Stain Covered Butter Dish EAPG

Beautiful antique U.S. Glass Company “Broken Column” covered butter dish, dating to approximately 1891. Broken Column is an Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) pattern produced by U.S. Glass Company in the late 19th century. This example features the especially striking ruby-stained decoration, with deep red accents applied throughout the clear pressed-glass pattern. The butter dish consists of a wide scalloped base and matching domed cover topped with a large faceted finial. The Broken Column pattern creates dramatic vertical ribs around both pieces, with the ruby decoration highlighting the architectural design. At approximately 135 years old, this is a wonderful surviving example of Victorian-era American pressed glass—and it displays beautifully.
