Description
Striking antique hand-blown art glass vase with a deep purple body, ruffled floriform rim, and applied green glass vine trails that fluoresce bright neon green under UV light. The bulbous base tapers into a slender neck, with hand-applied green trails curling around the body. Subtle flowing striations in the purple glass follow the form of the vase and reflect its hand-worked construction. A rough pontil scar on the underside supports hand-blown manufacture. The form and decoration are consistent with late Victorian / Art Nouveau Bohemian or Central European art glass, circa 1880–1910. The vase is unmarked, so no specific maker attribution is being made. The applied green glass fluoresces strongly under both 365 nm and approximately 395 nm UV light, consistent with uranium-bearing glass. The purple body does not show the same reaction. Details: • Origin: Bohemian / Central European, attributed by style • Era: Approx. 1880–1910 • Hand-blown art glass • Deep purple / plum body • Applied green vine / snake trails • Bright UV fluorescence • Height: Approx. 8 • Base diameter: Approx. 3 • Weight: Approx. 261.51 g • Ruffled floriform rim • Rough pontil scar • Unmarked • Very good antique condition with age-appropriate wear and manufacturing irregularities Bohemian art glass, Art Nouveau glass, uranium glass, Victorian vase, floriform vase, applied-trail glass.
