Description
Gifu Specialty Traditional Craft Gifu Folding Fan Set of 2
Made using Mino washi paper, layered with persimmon tannin and lacquer on the surface.
Traditional designs such as Nagaragawa Ukai (cormorant fishing on the Nagara River), a summer tradition of Gifu, are painted on a vermilion base.
Applying lacquer and tannin strengthens the washi paper and makes it water-resistant. It can also be used traditionally by wetting it and fanning to enjoy cooling through evaporative heat.
- Color: Vermilion
- Design: Figure painting, water bird illustration
- Tassel: Comes with a purple tassel
- Quantity: Set of 2
