Grapes are considered sacred fruits symbolizing fertility and abundance, and have long been used as decorative patterns on everyday household items.
The grape clusters are made of mother-of-pearl inlay on the cherry bark craft.

Born about 200 years ago as a handicraft of samurai in Kakunodate, it has been passed down as a traditional craft to this day.
The bark of mountain cherry trees, naturally dried for over a year, is shaved thinly and then polished. Flower and leaf patterns are created, and these are applied one by one. Grooves are added to create a three-dimensional effect, and finally, mother-of-pearl (abalone) is inlaid for finishing.

Although new, it has been stored at home for a long time.
A faint scent of wood remains.
Will be carefully packaged and shipped.
