Riihimaen Lasi Helena Tynell Aitanlukko Padlock Vase Blue Glass Finland

Helena Tynell's Aitanlukko, or The Padlock, vase was designed for Riihimaen Lasi in 1968 and produced through 1974. Made in Finland, the wonderfully bold shape takes its inspiration from a traditional padlock, with rounded details worked into the heavy blue glass and a distinctive wavy rim. This example still has its original foil label.  Measurements: Approximately 8.3 high × 5 wide.  Very good vintage condition. There is one small spot along the rim that feels like a popped bubble from the making of the vase rather than a later chip. It is shown closely in the photos.
