Amber Fatwood Tinderwood Fire Starter Flint & Steel ②

This is a fatwood stick processed from the trunk of Red Pine, which has abundant resin and is the easiest to shave! This is amber-colored fatwood with excellent ignition and burning properties!

Parts with less resin have been shaved off. Please be aware that some similar products are sold as a single piece that includes parts with less resin, such as the center and tips!
You can rest assured that the product you receive will not be coated with any gloss varnish!

Also, please be aware that some fatwood, despite having abundant resin, has complex grain patterns making it very difficult to split, or is processed from the base of branches which are difficult to shave. Similar products are sold as sticks.

Short, trimmed fatwood is difficult to use. As it is, it's hard to ignite and requires splitting or shaving into thin pieces, so we sell it in easy-to-use stick lengths.

Fatwood from the base of branches often ignites well but is hard and difficult to shave.

Therefore, fatwood from the trunk is recommended! Also recommended for feather sticks! See photos 2-

Fatwood is the part with abundant resin found in dead Red Pine and is an excellent tinder material.

Once you experience starting a fire with a fire steel and fatwood, you'll understand its appeal!

It also has a pleasant aroma, so you can enjoy it as an air freshener in your room.

Please note that we do not accept price negotiations.

The photos are samples of fatwood taken in sunlight immediately after shaving, and we will deliver similar items! Over time, the surface may become slightly whitish and matte, so the appearance may differ from the sample, but when shaved, you will find amber-colored parts with a good scent. Since we store pre-cut wood, the cut surfaces of the actual product will be less glossy and more whitish than in Photo 1.

As it is a natural material, the length may vary slightly. Knots may be included, so please understand. The number of pieces may vary from the photos.

As this is a natural product, please refrain from purchasing if you are looking for perfect quality or are sensitive!
