[Seto Ware Mizuno Juzan]
1868 - 1965
Born into a pottery family in Seto City, Aichi Prefecture. Real name Eichi Mizuno.
Inherited the name Juzan in 1931 and studied under Tatsukichi Fujii.
Selected and awarded at pottery exhibitions, craft exhibitions, export exhibitions, Nitten, etc.
Works permanently preserved at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Iron Glaze Pottery is characterized by its deep texture created with the black and brown colors unique to iron. Iron glaze is a glaze containing iron oxide. The higher the iron content, the closer to black it becomes. The serene atmosphere that the work exudes makes you feel the generosity and strength of nature.
Mizusashi (water jar) is an indispensable tea ceremony utensil for creating a solemn and calm atmosphere.
