Hand-carved Chashaku (tea scoop) - Mandarin Orange Wood, Standard Size, Jyu-toku Type
This is a standard size, Jyu-toku type chashaku, hand-carved from Mandarin Orange Wood, a local specialty of Ehime Prefecture, where my workshop is located and my late father (the previous generation) was from.
Mandarin orange wood is about as hard as boxwood when processed.
It is an old tree that was replanted, but it has a long lifespan.
