Vintage 1940s Black Satin Bonnet Quilted Ruffle Prairie Victorian Style Costume

Vintage black satin bonnet, likely dating to the 1940s, with a wonderful Victorian/prairie revival appearance. Constructed with a shaped, quilted crown and brim featuring decorative zigzag stitching, multiple stitched bands and a pleated ruffle around the edge. The back has a softly gathered satin covering with long fabric ties. Approximately 11” across the bonnet as shown in photos. This is an older piece showing its age and is best suited for costume, theater, photography, display or prop use rather than everyday wear. There are scattered small holes in the satin, age-related wear, loose/exposed areas on the underside and a missing/broken chin strap or tie. The remaining long back ties are present. Please review photos closely for condition. A striking old bonnet with great period character—especially nice for Victorian-inspired, prairie, mourning, historical or theatrical styling.
