Vintage Japan Snail Shell Salt Pepper Shakers Ceramic Mid Century 50s

Charming vintage Japanese ceramic salt and pepper shaker set shaped like whimsical spiral snail or seashells. This unusual little pair features a glossy cream glaze with warm brown, charcoal-gray and dark spotted detailing that emphasizes the sculptural spiral shell design. Their low, rounded shape gives them a wonderful mid-century novelty look and makes them just as fun displayed on a shelf or in a collection as they are on the table. Both pieces retain their original red and gold MADE IN JAPAN foil labels on the underside as well as their original cork stoppers.
