This striking slab-built stoneware dish features earthy iron-toned glazes with bold cobalt blue accents and abstract spiral decoration in Hatcher's recognizable painterly style. The underside bears both the Pine Mills Pottery studio chop and the DH artist mark.  Daphne Roehr Hatcher is a respected North Texas ceramic artist and educator associated with Pine Mills Pottery in Mineola, Texas. She studied and apprenticed in England with Michael and David Leach and later became a professor of ceramics at the University of North Texas (UNT). Her work has been exhibited nationally and is well regarded among collectors of contemporary American studio pottery.
