This is an antique Catholic Nun's or Priest's Pectoral Crucifix featuring an ebony wood inlay. History & Origin: These specific inlaid pieces are usually late 19th-century to early 20th-century French artifacts. They were typically worn by members of religious orders or attached to long, heavy habit rosaries.Design Features: The reverse side shows a stamped flower or rosette medallion at the cross intersection, covering the rivet that anchors the front corpus figure.
