Antique Tibetan Nepali Cuff Bracelet Carnelian Turquoise Inlay Coin Silver 53g
Antique
This is a stunning antique wide cuff bracelet from the Tibetan/Nepali Himalayan tradition — the substantial, handcrafted tribal silverwork that is increasingly difficult to find. It came from private estate auction and is a genuine antique piece, not a reproduction. The face of the bracelet is dominated by a large, domed oval carnelian cabochon set in the center — rich reddish-orange in color, translucent, with excellent depth and natural warmth. The carnelian is held in a hand-fabricated bezel surrounded by intricate twisted rope-wire and granulation (beaded dot) metalwork, a hallmark of Newari craftsmen from the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal and Tibetan silversmithing tradition. Flanking the carnelian on both sides are geometric turquoise inlay panels featuring bright blue-green turquoise with beautiful natural black spider-web matrix veining — a sign of natural, untreated stone. The inlay is arranged in a distinctive triangular and oval circle pattern framed within rope-twist and granulation borders. The cuff band is approximately 2 inches wide with a gently curved profile that sits comfortably on the wrist. The back is plain polished silver with decorative rope-twist borders. Open-back cuff style — slides over the hand at the wrist. In the Himalayan tradition, carnelian and turquoise are the sacred color pairing — turquoise for spiritual protection and harmony, carnelian for courage, vitality, and leadership. This is a genuine wearable antique and a true statement piece.
