Vintage Brown WW Era G-1 USA Navy Avirex Ltd Bomber Flight Brown Leather Jacket
Avirex
Vintage WW Era G-1 US NAVY Naval Cockpit Bomber Flight Brown Leather Jacket in Size 12 Made in USA by Avirex Limited Bureau Of Aeronautics Spec. 7823 (AER) New York, New York This piece is an incredible piece of history but does have wear, including a tear in the lining in one armpit area. Incredibly there were shells found in the interior snap pocket that could be from an area where this jacket travelled to. Since 1938 the G-1 flight jacket has been regulation issue gear to pilots of the United States Navy flight crews during the most heroic air battles in history. Before 1965, the G-1 was always made from goatskin. The collar is mouton lamb's wool. Full cut, fashioned out of 100% lamb Bi-swing back for ease of movement Knit cuffs and waistband Top and side entry pockets Full zip front wind flap Collar Button Flap One Interior pocket Brass Hardware Measurements are taken laying flat, and are approximate not exact. 18.5” Pit to Pit. This is not a modern size 12. In my opinion, this would best fit a size XS/S. Please ask for additional measurements if needed _______________________________________ Preowned condition. Preowned pieces have led a previous life, and may tell its story through minor imperfections such as loose threads, pilling, snags etc. Stock photos may be included for style and fit.
