MOUNTAIN JOHNNY × BRUNTON Monocular Compact - Black

MOUNTAIN JOHNNY
A compact monocular from BRUNTON (ECHO® Pocket Monocular).

I took it on hikes a few times, but it was mainly for carrying around and has seen little use.
There are no noticeable scratches.
The white BRUNTON lettering on the main body has peeled slightly.
Please check the photos.

(Quoted below)
A monocular from BRUNTON, a long-established optical manufacturer founded in 1894 in Wyoming, USA. It features a bright, clear field of view and sharp image quality. It uses Bak4 lenses, also found in higher-end models. Its palm-sized compactness and a mere 42g weight (about the same as two AA batteries) make it easy to carry without being a burden. It's also user-friendly, allowing for easy one-handed focus adjustment during use. The rubber-covered body is non-slip and easy to grip, and a strap is included to prevent accidental drops during hikes. This is the same monocular used by Jack Bauer in the American drama 24 (apologies for the slightly outdated information).

I brought it with me when I climbed Mt. Nakadake after an event in Aso. Unfortunately, it was foggy, and there was no view from the summit, but the rugged strata and volcanic smoke unique to the volcanic region were incredibly powerful when viewed through the monocular. I was able to fully enjoy the unique landscape.

Incidentally, the volcanic smoke in Aso was apparently more intense than usual, and as soon as I reached the crater, an evacuation order was issued due to an increase in the alert level. In a way, I was able to burn it into my memory at a valuable moment.

It's so compact you forget you have it, but the impact when you see what you want to see is infinite.

Definitely a great companion for your mountain excursions.
